What we are looking for:

A territory sales manager to be part of the team responsible for representing Aperture’s brand, promoting and selling our full line of products to business customers, and maintaining strong relationships with a portfolio of aquarium shops and store owners. The ideal candidate will have a proven ability to grow and nurture business relationships, with experience in a B2B sales role. This includes being responsible for prospecting and closing new customers and nurturing existing customers to support ongoing ordering and grow share of wallet. Additionally, the candidate should have passion for the aquarium industry, possess excellent communication skills, and have a strong desire to grow Aperture sales within their territory.

What you’ll do:

Sales and business development: Work with our US Sales Director to promote, sell, and secure orders from existing and prospective customers through a relationship-based approach. Demonstrate new product features and explain their benefits to potential customers. Represent Aperture Business’s full line of own brands and distribution brands. Identify potential leads and convert them into loyal customers. Meet and exceed sales goals and targets set by the company.

Customer relationship management: Develop and maintain long-term relationships with aquarium shops and service company owners. Provide post-sale support and troubleshooting, address any concerns or issues, and ensure customer satisfaction. Conduct calls and in-store visits to existing customers, ensuring their needs are met and identifying opportunities for upselling or cross-selling.

Market research: Monitor industry trends, competitors, and product developments. Gather feedback from customers to inform product improvements and new product development. Stay informed about the latest technologies and advancements in the aquarium equipment industry.

Product knowledge: Maintain a thorough knowledge of all company products, their applications, and benefits. Attend training sessions, workshops, and seminars to remain updated with product information as needed.

Reporting and administration: Prepare sales orders, sales reports and other analytics as required by management. Manage customers for your territory in our customer database. Maintain accurate records of all pricings, sales, and activity reports. Submit orders by referring to price lists and product documentation.

General responsibilities: Work independently to manage daily tasks, special projects and deadlines as well as work toward team goals and deadlines. Participate in team development of monthly and annual project-based goals and perform self-directed activities to support completion of goals. Participate in team meetings and other meetings and projects as needed. Attend and exhibit at regional and national trade shows.

You’ll play a critical role in the continued evolution of our sales initiatives to ensure we best meet the needs of our growing and diverse customer base in your territory. You’ll work with the rest of the Sales team to grow your sales skills and engage with our customers to create recommendations for them utilizing our ever-growing selection of more than 4,000 SKUs and exclusive distribution brands.

Role Requirements
• 2-3 years of experience working directly in sales in a retail or B2B environment (aquarium industry experience strongly preferred)
• Detail-oriented and highly organized
• Proactive with client interactions
• Ability to travel to meet clients and attend trade shows, approx. 10-20% of time
