What you will be doing

We are looking for a Principal DevOps Engineer to support Digital Engineering teams working on AZ and GCP Distributed Systems.

The position will be based in the Pleasanton, CA office, or one of our main corporate offices (Plano, TX, Boise ID, or Deer Valley, CA).

Main responsibilities
• Represent the Engineering Operations organization covering DevOps, Site Reliability Engineering, Quality and Performance Engineering, Database Operations, Release and Deployments work streams.
• Oversee end to end implementation of key engineering initiatives by partnering with the engineering teams and help them translate the infrastructure requirements for the DevOps team. This role is critical to ensure that there is no gap in the requirements and all the infrastructure delivered meets the approved architectural patterns.
• Ensure end to end physical implementation/deployment architecture diagrams for major initiatives are worked upon and delivered as part of the project.
• Enforcing standards for teams to stay on top of Spring and Java latest versions.
• Bring in discipline and accountability within the engineering teams to deliver cost-effective solutions.

The salary range is $ 182,400 to $ 220,000. Starting salary will vary based on criteria such as location, experience, and qualifications. Benefits may include medical, dental, vision, disability and life insurance, sick pay, PTO/Vacation pay/Flexible Time Off, paid holidays (8-9 days annually) bereavement pay and retirement benefits (such as 401(k) eligibility). Associates in this position are also eligible for a quarterly bonus.

What we are searching for
• 4-year degree (Information Systems, Computer Science, Business Administration, or relational functional field) and/or equivalent combination of education or work experience.
• 15 years of prior Engineering relevant experience.
• Minimum 5 years of Experience of working in AZ and GCP public cloud.
• Hands on experience using CICD tool chain – GitHub Enterprise, GitHub Actions Pipelines, code quality (SonarQube), Static and Dynamic code analysis from security perspective (Veracode and API testing) and using JFrog artifactory.
• Have a deep understanding of distributed technologies and micro services architecture running on container platforms.
• Hands on experience in using/managing Kafka and ability to enforce best practices.
• Solid experience in using and managing AZ PaaS components like Redis Cache, SQL DB, Cosmos Mongo DB
• Experience of working and administering Cassandra database
• Hands on experience using GCP tech stack like Data Flow and Big Query
• Experience in implementing FinOps best practices to avoid cost escalation in GCP and AZ
• Enforce logging standards and ensure application teams implement logging framework that is easily manageable for EngOps SRE and DataOps teams.
• Prior experience supporting Data Engineering teams, including:
• Experience of working with Data Engineering teams in implementing and managing AZ Databricks
• Experience in implementing or supporting Data Mesh architecture.
• Experience support Machine Learning Engineering teams in Models development and deployment
• Experience in using tools like VertexAI.
