This position is full-time, Monday – Friday. Employees are required to work our normal business hours of 8:00am – 5:00pm PST. It may be necessary, given the business need, to work occasional overtime or weekends.
We offer 3-4 weeks of on-the-job training. The hours of the training will be aligned with your schedule.

Primary Responsibilities:
Answer incoming calls, assisting members and other health care providers with pharmacy benefit questions and escalating complicated drug related calls to the clinical pharmacist
Access, input, and retrieve pharmacy data, and ability to run pharmacy reports
Assist pharmacy team in identifying high volume/high cost pharmacy utilizing members from data reports
Maintain customer/patient confidentiality according to HIPAA and company standards
Perform administrative/clerical related duties as required by the clinical pharmacy team
Reviewing and approving member referrals, ensuring that they are appropriate for the patient’s needs
Working with physicians, nurses, and other health professionals to ensure that patients receive appropriate treatment
Maintaining availability of medications, ensuring that items are available in sufficient quantities
Communicating with insurance companies regarding drug coverage status and processing claims
Communicating with patients about their medication regimen and any changes that may be needed

Required Qualifications:
High school diploma/GED or equivalent work experience
Must be 18 years of age or older
1+ years in utilization management OR pharmacy prior authorization (PA) experience
Proficient in the utilization of software programs such as Microsoft Office, which includes the ability to learn new and complex computer system applications
Ability to document chart notes, and effectively present information and respond to questions from those within the organization as well as to groups outside of the company
Ability to work our normal business hours of 8:00am – 5:00pm PST. It may be necessary, given the business need, to work occasional overtime or weekends.
Preferred Qualifications:
1+ years of PHARMACY authorization experience
Clinical experience
Familiarity with contracts
Typing ability 30+ WPM
Experience with medications and insurance plans
Telecommuting Requirements:
Ability to keep all company sensitive documents secure (if applicable)
Required to have a dedicated work area established that is separated from other living areas and provides information privacy.
Must live in a location that can receive a UnitedHealth Group approved high-speed internet connection or leverage an existing high-speed internet service.

Proven ability to organize and manage multiple priorities
California, Colorado, Connecticut, Hawaii, Nevada, New Jersey, New York, Washington or Rhode Island Residents Only: The hourly range for California / Colorado / Connecticut / Hawaii / Nevada / New York / New Jersey / Washington / Rhode Island residents is $16.54 – $32.55 per hour.
