We are looking for a Senior Analyst to support our project work through research and analysis of clean energy and decarbonization technologies, practices, and programs to support strategic planning and implementation efforts. Project work covers a range of areas including emerging technologies, distributed energy resources, strategic electrification, active demand response, energy storage, and new electricity grid technologies. You will collaborate with and lead project teams to support complex analytical projects and prepare and communicate effective reports and presentations to clients. Ideal candidates will have demonstrated experience as project manager and/or technical lead on energy efficiency, demand response, and electrification market potential studies or similar analyses and associated model development. This position is fully remote.

Responsibilities

    Research and analyze the benefits, costs, and market conditions of energy efficiency, electrification, demand response, and renewable energy technologies
  • Conduct analysis of policies and programs that promote sustainable energy
  • Improve data quality and process automation
  • Perform economic and potential analyses of sustainable energy resources
  • Develop client deliverables such as written reports, presentations, charts, and figures

Qualifications

Education/Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree and 5+ years of experience working in the clean energy industry
  • Knowledge of clean energy technologies, practices, policies, and programs
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to identify and synthesize information
  • Ability to work in a team environment as well as independently
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills that support Optimal’s focus on producing clear, concise, and understandable deliverables
  • Solid organizational skills and the ability to handle multiple competing priorities and deadlines
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite
  • Demonstrated experience as project manager and/or technical lead on energy efficiency, demand response, and electrification market potential studies strongly preferred
  • Experience developing, managing, and overseeing the use of complex analytical tools preferred
  • Experience with other analytical software and/or coding languages such as Python and R preferred

The pay range for this position is $110,000.00- $140,000.00 per year; however, base pay offered may be higher or lower depending on job-related knowledge, skills,experience of the candidate, and/or market location. Restricted stock units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the position offered. Medical, dental, and vision insurance are offered to full-time employees, along with Flexible Spending Accounts and Health Savings Accounts, with employee and employer contributions. Flexible Time Off plan for full-time salary employees along with 6 paid holidays a year. 401(k) savings plan; Company Paid Basic life insurance and accidental death and dismemberment insurance; Company Paid Short-term and long-term disability insurance are also provided.
