Job description: FPGA Engineer

Rochester, NY – US (hybrid)

The Role:

Our optimized, real-time embedded products utilize FPGAs to create scalable solutions in the areas of autonomous machines, sensors, imaging, and robotics. Typical use cases include signal processing for high-performance sensors like 2D and 3D imagers, high speed communications (including but not limited to MIPI-CSI2, PCIe, and ethernet), and image signal processing (ISP).

As an FPGA Engineer, you will be responsible for designing the IP and providing feedback to our electronics designers to take embedded systems from requirements to production. This is a great opportunity to join a growing digital design team, be responsible for high-performance solutions, and help drive products to production for our customers. As part of our engineering design team, you will work closely with Hardware Designers, Software Developers, Product Managers and Manufacturers to create products with innovative companies from startups to the Fortune 100.

This role is for someone with a creative mindset who has expertise in high-speed digital design for autonomous systems, advanced image sensors (RGB, Radar, ToF), image processing, computer vision, artificial intelligence, or power supplies. You will help define and architect the system, develop FPGA IP, and oversee integration, test, and verification.

The Responsibilities:

Create embedded systems in all phases of the product development cycle including: requirements definition and architecture, FPGA digital design, FPGA IP implementation, unit test, hardware integration, hardware bring-up, verification and validation, and customer support

Conduct and oversee code development, design reviews, testing, debugging, and IP/hardware integration

Provide technical direction and leadership in a non-supervisory capacity for complex engineering projects

The Right Person Will Have:

A Bachelors degree in computer science, computer engineering, electrical engineering, or related fields or equivalent years of experience

A minimum of two years high-speed digital design experience

Experience developing FPGA modules or IP with Verilog or System Verilog

Experience with Hardware Description Language (HDL), Register-Transfer Level (RTL), and digital design for FPGA Devices

Developed constraints and modified FPGA designs to close timing

Created modules or IP for image processing

Experience creating test benches, and performing simulations on modules

Experience in mitigating metastability for setup and hold violations in clock domain crossings and/or asynchronous data sampling

The Benefits:

Competitive total compensation

Medical and dental coverage

Employer paid basic life, short-term disability, and identity theft protection

Voluntary vision, life, long-term disability, accident, and critical illness coverage

Simple IRA retirement contribution

Paid holidays, time-off, and sick time

Tuition assistance and employer paid professional development

Flexible work schedules

Remote opportunities available
