Deliver against business intelligence objectives including creating solutions for information delivery and data analytics projects with the goal of empowering and enabling business users with actionable information. Expectations include independently analyzing, designing, and developing business intelligence and analytics solutions using coding standards and best practices in close partnership with business teams, architecture, and IT leaders; as well as, mentoring junior staff by providing guidance and design consultation.

The BI End User Support Analyst will be exposed to all aspects of business intelligence – a host of reporting tools; data, data and more data; and support from a team who works really hard while still remembering to have fun. All we ask is that you come to the role excited, energized, and ready to learn. In this role, your primary focus will be on assisting end users with self-service reporting using the tools, applications, and solutions our team builds. The position may also include training and creation of user documentation and other support materials.

  • Trains and mentors user community on the use of business intelligence and analytical tools, such as self-service capabilities and standard report packages.

  • Participates in and hosts weekly Office Hours session with the end user community.

  • Assists with the design and development of end user support materials, such as user guides, tutorials, and data dictionaries.

  • Assists with business intelligence objectives including reporting requirements elicitation, development, and participating in the design and architecture of business intelligence and analytics solutions according to provided specifications.

  • Assists with the creation of solutions that provide accurate information quickly to the organization.

  • Analyzes, designs and builds reports, dashboards or other business intelligence components as assigned.

  • Assists in applying defined standards and best practices to all assignments.

  • Seeks to improve understanding through partnership with other members of the team on the purpose of standards and best practices in order to be able to contribute on future best practices and standards as they evolve.

  • Evaluates technology that is being considered for use within the organization and provides assessment of these technologies for future consideration.

  • Conducts reviews of products and solutions using business intelligence, analytics or data visualization technologies.

  • Reviews incoming projects to determine if existing technologies could be used to either do the job better or guide the development staff in the direction of fully utilizing existing or alternate technologies. ​

Responsibilities

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, business intelligence or related area of study, or equivalent combination of education and/or relevant work experience; HS diploma or GED is required

  • Familiarity with Business Intelligence tools such as IBM Cognos Analytics, SAS, R, Tableau, or Qlik.

  • Familiarity with databases, including the ability to write queries using standard query languages.

  • Must be organized with the ability to manage multiple projects at any given time.

  • Proficient technical skills and the ability and desire to learn new technologies.

  • Excellent communication skills – must be able to listen, comprehend, and assist with the gathering of requirements from the end user to ensure the need or problem to be solved is addressed in the most proficient manner. Must be able to communicate visual concepts verbally in a manner that is understood by all levels of staff, including technical and non-technical end users.

Potential pay for this position ranges from $55,270.00 – $88,430.00 based on experience and skills. Pay range may vary by 8% depending on applicant location.
