Overview

GovCIO is currently hiring for a versatile Project Manager with current VA experience to support the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA). This will be a fully remote position.

Responsibilities

The candidate will be responsible for organizing the work of a new team around Artificial Intelligence (AI).Must be a self-starter who can quickly identify and track work assignments, conduct research, provide relevant content, offer solutions, and is adaptable.Responsible for client interactions and ensuring coordination and outcomes are accomplished. The environment is dynamic, and the client needs are evolving. Flexibility and forward-thinking views are important for success.

  • Organizes and visualizes team work

  • Captures notes, themes, and action items from meetings and discussions and determines next steps

  • Ensures action items and milestones are fully documented, are being worked satisfactorily, and completed as planned

  • Distills information to succinct content to effectively assist executives in decision making

  • Repurposes content for a variety of audiences/stakeholders and uses [i.e. prepares 1-pagers then converts content into a PowerPoint deck and/or converts a PowerPoint deck into a 1-pager]

  • Problem solver who assesses requests, determines the necessary tasks, then organizes the team to successfully accomplish the work

  • Coordinates and schedules meetings

Qualifications

Required Skills and Experience

  • Bachelor’s in Business Administration, Business Management, Computer Science, Information Systems, Operations Research or related fields and 5 years of relevant experience

  • If no degree, 8-10 years of additional relevant experience may be substituted for education

  • Current VA OIT experience with active VA system access a must

  • Experience managing Agile teams

  • Experience using Jira or similar tool to organize and manage team’s work

  • Experience taking imprecise requirements and requests and delivering robust solutions, products, and/or recommendations

  • Strong analytical and investigative skills with ability to make recommendations, and a relentless resolve to bring new ideas or iterations

  • Proficient in organizing and facilitating meetings at the leadership level

  • Completely comfortable with being on camera/video all the time

  • Flexibility, ingenuity, creativity, diplomacy, and a willingness to learn and adapt

  • Experience working within distributed teams and remote environments

  • Proficient in use of Microsoft tools – PowerPoint, MS Teams, Word, and Excel

Preferred Skills and Experience

  • Experience or working knowledge of Artificial Intelligence

  • Experience with Jira to capture project tasks, risks, and progress

  • Experience with Mural, Miro, or other online whiteboards

  • Experience with SharePoint

  • Clearance Required: Able to obtain and maintain a Suitability/Public Trust clearance

Posted Pay Range

The posted pay range, if referenced, reflects the range expected for this position at the commencement of employment, however, base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, education, experience, and internal equity. The total compensation package for this position may also include other compensation elements, to be discussed during the hiring process. If hired, employee will be in an “at-will position” and the GovCIO reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, GovCIO or individual department/team performance, and market factors.

Posted Salary Range

USD $95,000.00 – USD $110,000.00 /Yr.
