Systems and Business Analyst | Oracle EPM | Hybrid schedule – Remote work considered for the right person

Description

The primary role of the Analyst, Finance Systems position will be the implementation, administration and maintenance of Oracle Cloud financial systems (ERP/EPM) with a specific focus on EPM/EPBCS (Planning). The position will report to the Director, Finance Systems & Operations. This role will also be responsible for assisting in ongoing training on the use of the financial systems, act as liaison to the end users and Financial Planning & Analysis department for their ongoing requirements. The candidate is expected to work with minimal to no supervision while balancing competing priorities, exercising independent judgement to gain cooperation and consensus working toward common goals, and representing the Finance department with tact and diplomacy.

Some of the common key responsibilities are further outlined below:

Focus on continuous process improvement relating to financial accounting work processes, systems, policies and procedures, while keeping industry best practices in mind. * Manage and deploy updates to business rules and plan models as required. This may include engaging managed services partner as necessary, as well as working with various functional areas in the company: Sales, Underwriting, Actuary, etc.

  • Oversee procedures for maintaining and executing model data governance, including the maintenance of the test environment for proper validation and deployment of model changes.
  • Develop reporting solutions that add value for planning users. Produce documentation and training materials in support of these solutions.
  • Support EPBCS data load processes (routine & ad-hoc, where needed).
  • Support ongoing maintenance of EPBCS cubes, including dimensionality & associated metadata.
  • Support ongoing planning processes (e.g., for Income Statement, Balance Sheet, workforce, & long-range planning) with the administration team, as needed – including variable maintenance, data form and report updates, security changes, etc.
  • Assist Financial Planning & Analysis with the development/delivery of training materials for end users on quarterly forecasts and annual budgets, as required.
  • Troubleshoot solution issues as they arise and coordinate escalation to managed services team, as needed.
  • Coordinate acceptance of monthly EPM product release, which includes testing and communication of new/updated features.
  • Assume other responsibilities as assigned or circumstances dictate, including participating/leading various departmental or enterprise-wide projects.
  • Collaborate with other team members on cross-functional support and business continuity coverage.

Qualifications and Skills Required

The candidate should have a minimum of a bachelor’s degree in accounting, business administration, computer science, or a related field, and three to five years of professional experience as a financial analyst, accountant, or computer programmer analyst that included participation in the design of a financial accounting system with a focus on budgeting and forecasting; or, a combination of training, education, and experience that is equivalent to one of the employment standards listed above and that provides the required knowledge and abilities. Experience with Oracle EPBCS including Calculation Manager, Form design, Task design and implementation. Strong understanding of Oracle Planning security.

The candidate must possess sharp observation skills and an ability to perform effectively in a demanding environment. This person should have good analytical and computer problem solving skills as well as excellent communication skills.
