The Product Marketing Specialist of Optum Health Solutions (OHS) will be responsible for managing and optimizing low acuity OHS and Optum Behavioral Health (OBH) solutions, combining medical and behavioral in a new, truly integrated way that best serves our members with whole person care within navigation solutions. In this role, the candidate will be accountable for helping to optimize the product portfolio, establish working relationships with internal sales/account management and other partners, and guiding commercialization efforts for new opportunities. This position will be required to work with business, operations, sales/growth, technology, finance, and other teams across the enterprise to optimize and drive more value and growth related to the in-scope products and services.
The Product Marketing Specialist will be responsible for interfacing with the market to create awareness and thought leadership, work with channel leads to drive growth, and internal functions to ensure optimal delivery and execution of all products, services, and capabilities. The candidate will need to understand the dynamics of the UHG enterprise and of the external marketplace (including customers, competitors, providers, partners, government sector, consumers, etc.) to create a solid vision, business plan, and priorities, as well as generate the support of senior leaders to secure investments and capital to enable the plan. The candidate must have demonstrated business success and a proven track record of solid product management, transformation, product, new business and capability development leading to the creation of growth generating opportunities and sustainable, scalable solutions.
This position reports directly to the Sr. Director, OHS & OBH Product. You’ll enjoy the flexibility to telecommute* from anywhere within the U.S. as you take on some tough challenges.
Primary Responsibilities:
Support the development of market and sales strategies and value proposition
Collaborate with internal and external teams to develop effective marketing materials for the product overall and for individual clients
Lead content creation for product portfolio including B2B, B2C, and internal communications
Gather competitive intelligence and conduct competitive analysis; translate market feedback into new communication campaigns and/or product roadmap
Influence innovation across teams to ensure alignment across multiple areas including technology, marketing, and service operations
Ensure consistent messaging and branding is applied to internal and external communications
Analyze effectiveness of communication efforts and evolve as necessary
Lead and be responsible for the onboarding of new clients/carriers/vendors
Navigate and influence multiple cross-functional teams in a complex, matrix work environment
Manage cross-segment projects and initiatives that require problem solving, relationship building, influencing and analyzing
Adapt departmental plans and priorities to address business and operational challenges
Review product performance against expectations and facilitate or influence changes to product portfolio to improve competitive position and optimal product performance. May work with internal or external business constituents to determine product future direction or respond to product inquiries. May be project-based and involve working within multiple product functions
Contribute to product roadmap to align to the vision of the future (includes internal engineering work, commercializing the changes, and managing the solutions)
Partner with cross-functional teams to project manage, ask critical questions, and provide subject matter expertise to support client implementations
Perform as a functional liaison amongst external vendors as well as internal stakeholders
Responsible for the integrity and completeness of product data and reporting
Troubleshoot product problems and present root-cause and solutions
Oversee post-onboarding client and vendor activities and contractual agreements to ensure IT, data privacy, and Service Level Agreement compliance are up to date and adhered to
Travel is expected to range from 0-25% depending on business needs

Required Qualifications:
3+ years of experience in a client-facing product or marketing role
Demonstrate analytical ability to aggregate and synthesize data and information, turning into relevant presentations with recommendations or actions
Experience building external and internal stakeholder relationships as well as experience managing expectations
Proven presentation (written, verbal, EQ) skills; experience influencing, leading, motivating, inspiring, developing and encouraging people from C-level suite to individual contributors in multiple functional areas
Demonstrated ability to create clarity and focus in ambiguity
Collaboration skills to manage implementation/onboarding and formulate mitigation actions
Detail oriented experience with contract and project implementations
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in any combination of vendor, client and project management
Academic experience in marketing, communications or a related field
Experience in the employer and payer markets
Critical thinking skills
Knowledge of digital marketing tools and channels, including email, social media platforms, paid social media advertising, blogs, partner marketing

Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. UnitedHealth Group complies with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
