Splunk is looking for an individual to join its newly established Costa Rica finance shared services center. This Finance Operations (FinOps) Analyst role will be a part of our transaction approval and analytics team supporting the global FP&A department. You will partner closely with FP&A leads who collaborate with their business partners and get to know different business units across the company. Candidates will have outstanding communication skills to grow stakeholder centric partnership orientation to solving issues, balance multiple priorities, and deal with the ambiguity that comes in a fast-growing organization. Responsibilities: I want to and can do that!

  • Review of FP&A fundamental data validation such as authorization to spend by reviewing/approving purchase orders and hiring requisitions to ensure all relevant financial information is accurately recorded.

  • Construct and analyze first pass of monthly and quarterly spend purchase order based accruals, and draft PO accrual spend analysis and expense trending.

  • Assist in ad-hoc analysis under the direction of senior members of the team.

  • Be encouraged to consider process improvements that will enhance the overall operation and efficiency of the Finance organization.

Requirements: I’ve already done that or have that!

  • 3+ years of related experience in finance or accounting

  • This role is for doers; be able to get into the details and get the job done while at the same time being able to see the forest for the trees

  • Ability to work well under deadline pressure to respond quickly to partners, thrive in a fast-paced environment,and stay flexible through growth and change.

  • Strong customer service orientation and a desire to provide backup coverage for each other and help others succeed, across the team and their partners.

  • Demonstrated analytical and quantitative abilities.

  • Articulate with excellent verbal and written communication skills.

  • High attention to detail in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.

  • Comfortable completing projects requiring individual initiative and flexibility in tight time frames with some direct supervision as required.

  • Basic financial acumen broadly across the organization (e.g., understanding of financial statements, chart of accounts, business intelligence, FP&A processes, etc.,)

  • Auditing, project planning, coordination, communications and process/system change experience is a plus

  • Prior software industry and/or US headquartered company experience a plus

  • Software and system skills (Google Suite, Workday, Tableau, SAP, Slack, Zoom) a plus.

  • Microsoft Excel is a must .

Education: Got it!

  • Bachelors Degree is a must, in Finance or Accounting or related relevant areas a plus

  • Professional certifications such as CA, CPA, CFA, etc. a plus.

Note:

Base Pay Range

SF Bay Area, Seattle Metro, and New York City Metro Area

Base Pay Range: $41.54 – 57.12 per hour

California (excludes SF Bay Area), Washington (excludes Seattle Metro), Washington DC Metro, and Massachusetts

Base Pay Range: $37.38 – 51.40 per hour

All other cities and states excluding California, Washington, Massachusetts, New York City Metro Area and Washington DC Metro Area.

Base Pay Range: $33.46 – 46.01 per hour

Splunk provides flexibility and choice in the working arrangement for most roles, including remote and/or in-office roles. We have a market-based pay structure which varies by location. Please note that the base pay range is a guideline and for candidates who receive an offer, the base pay will vary based on factors such as work location as set out above, as well as the knowledge, skills and experience of the candidate. In addition to base pay, this role is eligible for incentive compensation, and may be eligible for equity or long-term cash awards.
