The Otis ROLE technical support department is looking for a summer 2023 intern who is an organized self-starter with technical backgrounds; and/or, aptitudes who are interested in careers in the elevator industry. The successful individual will be working as an Otis ROLE triage agent, providing technical support to the North American field organization.
Triage agents are responsible for answering phone calls from mechanics and providing first level technical support. The candidate will utilize their technical skills and an array of resources, such as wiring diagrams and Otis technical manuals to assist in diagnosing and resolving problems with elevators and escalators. The candidate will also be responsible for building our knowledge base of known problem and solution pairs, working closely with highly skilled technical experts to accomplish this task. Other duties include maintaining reporting in PowerBI and Excel, as well as supporting development and utilization of digital applications. This position provides a student with an excellent overview of Otis operations. It also provides an opportunity to develop communication, business and technical skills.
*Education
Candidate must be working towards completion of requirements for bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Computer/Software engineering or a related field.
*Experience / Qualifications
Basic skills required include phone communication and use of computers to review technical documents and wiring diagrams. Electro-mechanical problem-solving skills and technical aptitude are also key competencies to this position. Experience with PowerBI, Excel, and basic machine learning concepts will help. Must be able to learn quickly, manage multiple tasks and be willing to work in a fast-paced environment.
