The Asset Management Group supports both our internal facility contracts and our external customers to build efficient operation and maintenance programs based on sound reliability engineering principles. We are a small, agile team that steps in to help solve the challenges faced by our customers. We are currently looking for a Computer Science Intern who is interested in supporting our desire to use artificial intelligence (AI) and/or machine learning (ML) to analyze text data entries in our maintenance database (Maximo CMMS).

This is a temporary position. The rate pay is $23.22/hr. for a Junior and $26.54/hr for a Senior student.

As a member of our team, you will:

  • Utilize Maximo and other tools to analyze unstructured text data sets stored in an Oracle Database.

  • Assist in the creation of a simple software test platform to link AI models with the database.

  • Work with senior software and IT professionals to extract data and build AI bots that can recognize valuable insights such as user sentiments, emerging trends, and feedback that might otherwise go unnoticed.

  • Work with our Maintenance and Reliability Engineers and Technicians to validate AI results.

Here’s what you’ll need :

  • Working to obtain a Bachelor’s Degree or higher in one of the following disciplines (or similar): Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, Data Science.

  • Minimum of Junior status at time of internship.

  • Previous related experience in software development (including coursework, projects, internships, etc)

  • Proficiency in programming languages (e.g., Python, R).

  • Understanding of database systems (SQL, NoSQL).

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Knowledge of natural language processing (NLP) techniques, Artificial Intelligence (AI) (Desired).

Essential Functions:

Work will be done primarily inside

Travel/transportation requirements – Travel to customer sites possible (5%)

Work assignments are usually during normal work hours, but flexibility is sometimes necessary to support meetings, test schedules, and test operations.
