Job description: InGenesis is currently seeking a Data Entry/Word Processing Specialist to work with our client in Albany, NY. In this role, you will be working within the Office of Mental Health’s administrative office providing support within the department.

Job Duties

· Handle requests for pistol permits, explosives, employment and government employee qualifications

· Validation of the Pistol Permit request and consent to ensure applicants follow MH 9.33 Laws and HIPAA Laws for requesting mental health background checks

· Enter demographic data of the applicant s into the MHBC (Mental Health Background Check) application which checks all of the OMH State psychiatric facilities for any services that the individual may have received

· Print/copy results of the background check

· Complete police authority request in a timely manner for processing

· Maintain, update and correct files and records

· Enter data and information into; and retrieve data and information from our programs and systems

· Other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications

· Ability to work independently and ask for direction when necessary

· Ability to work cooperatively with colleagues

· Computer literacy; able to type 55 wpm

· Ability to learn new computer programs quickly with appropriate assistance and support

· Working knowledge of Excel, Power Point, Outlook and Word

· Multi-tasker
