Job summary

The Amazon Lending Operations Program Manager is responsible for driving strategic projects, operations-based lending experiments and management of all operational aspects of the lending program through the loan life cycle. This role will support Amazon Lending internal and external partners to push excellence and a world class customer experience for customers globally. You will partner with internal finance, tech, product, and global operational teams to identify customer gaps with a goal of resolving product and operational issues through automation and mechanisms. The ideal candidate will take on challenging strategic business problems for B2BP Operations and develop solutions, procedures and automation tools to drive efficiency in operations, manage risk and enhance the customer experience.

This role requires strong project management, analytical, and relationship management skills. You must be able to work effectively at multiple levels of the organization. You will be an advocate for Lending, work to develop new solutions across B2BP internal teams, our partners and with businesses that operate in numerous countries. The ideal candidate will bring the following to the position: a) excellent interpersonal skills, the ability to build new relationships with a diverse set of partners and ask the right questions to understand their needs, b) be a highly organized, dedicated services provider to our internal partners and clients, design and implement solutions to serve their needs while meeting B2BP objectives, c) combine analytical ability with strong written and verbal communications skills in order to influence others and drive initiatives forward and d) integrity and the ability to earn trust from stakeholders and partners are essential qualities. The ideal candidate must be comfortable working independently in a fast-paced environment, demonstrate solid business judgement, bias for action and be comfortable dealing with ambiguity.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop a deep understanding of the Lending business and be able to identify and execute upon opportunities to grow the business leveraging our operational capabilities
  • Design, lead and execute upon multi-year strategic projects for B2BP Operations
  • Facilitate relationships between teams, move initiatives forward, find resources, raise concerns to appropriate owners early and resolve open issues that prevent progress
  • Oversee the design, execution, monitoring and assessment of operations-driven lending experiments and follow through with full scale implementation
  • Develop Lending’s Loss Mitigation and Collections strategy, implement and manage the program
  • Manage Amazon Lending cross-functional operational efforts, working with tech, product, customer service, policy, training and other operational teams to ensure smooth rollout of new Amazon lending product features and programs
  • Facilitate discussion and coordination among operational stakeholders across the company in order to manage all existing resources in the most effective way
  • Communicate prioritization and trade-off operational decisions to the broader cross-functional team to drive consensus, and ensure that those decisions are properly implemented
  • Collaborate with marketing, operations, and customer service teams to develop self-help and educational “how to” content that can be shared with customers across multiple channels
  • Partner with the different operational teams to provide support and resources during and after projects
  • Facilitate relationships between teams, move initiatives forward, find resources, raise concerns to appropriate owners early and resolve open issues that prevent progress
  • Hold people accountable when schedule or progress is in jeopardy while maintaining respectful relationships in difficult situations
  • Contribute to program processes, tracking tools, and general project and program managing best practices, and initiate improvements where needed in order to scale effectively as the organization grows

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

  • 3+ years experience in program or project management
  • Experience using data and metrics to drive improvements
  • Experience working cross functionally with tech and non-tech teams
  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills – able to structure thoughts to communicate and gain buy-in on ideas
  • Experience with credit risk management and business credit concepts (underwriting, servicing, processing in a financial institution)
  • Professional experience organizing and leading teams and influencing senior leaders
  • Ability to solve analytical problems and draw conclusions from large complex data sets
  • Ability to stay focused under pressure and prioritize and manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to take the initiative and be proactive without waiting for direction

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Advanced degree or equivalent work experience
  • 3+ years of experience in a project/program management and / or consulting function with focus on credit management, process improvement and relationship management
  • Experience in banking, lending and/or payments
  • SQL skills and/or other data mining skills are highly desired to access, transform, and analyze data as needed
  • Professional experience providing recommendations and making decisions based on complex analyses and data
