You will be working in a high production environment where you have to meet an hourly goal of claims, with emphasis on high quality results. You will have 14 weeks of training where you will learn how to process healthcare claims. You will need to be detailed oriented, have prior knowledge of Microsoft Word (create, update, and format documents) and Microsoft Excel (create, update spreadsheets, filter and sort data).

You will need the ability to multi-task (using a calculator, multiple computer screens, multiple tools and system applications at one time.) You will not have member contact or member calls involved in this position. You will be responsible for timely communication via emails or messaging.

You will receive a laptop, docking station, mouse, keyboard, 2 monitors, and an internet installation line. You will have the support of Subject Matter Experts, Team Leads, Supervisors, and Managers will be able to assist with any questions once training is complete You will work independently but will receive assistance as needed from the leadership team. You will be working in a team environment. After 14 weeks of training, flexible schedule is available. A 30-minute lunch and two 15-minute breaks schedule will be administered by the leadership team.

This position is full – time. Employees are required to have the flexibility to work an assigned 8 hour shift during our normal business hours of 5:00 AM – 5:30 PM CST including the flexibility to work occasional overtime and weekends based on business need.

We offer 14 weeks of paid training. The hours during training will be 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM CST. Training will be conducted virtually from your home.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Provide general claims support by reviewing and processing claims

  • Calculate other insurance and benefits

  • Participate in meetings to share, discuss, and solution for question or error trends, as well as potential process improvements

  • Consistently meet established productivity, schedule adherence, and quality standards

Required Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma / GED

  • Must be 18 years of age or older

  • 1+ years of experience in a related environment (i.e., office, administrative, clerical, customer service, etc.), using computers as the primary job tools

  • 1+ years of experience with Windows personal computer applications, which includes the ability to navigate multiple programs and learn new and complex computer system applications

  • Experience with using Microsoft Word (create, update, and format documents) and Microsoft Excel (create, update, and sort spreadsheets, pivot tables, and data)

  • Ability to commit to 14 weeks of training (attendance is mandatory)

  • Ability to work an assigned 8 hour shift during our normal business hours of 5:00 AM – 5:30 PM CST including the flexibility to work occasional overtime and weekends based on business need.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 1+ years of experience with processing medical, dental, prescription, OR mental health claims

  • Basic understanding of healthcare claims including ICD – 9 and CPT codes

Telecommuting Requirements:

  • Ability to keep all company sensitive documents secure (if applicable)

  • Required to have a dedicated work area established that is separated from other living areas and provides information privacy.

  • Must live in a location that can receive a UnitedHealth Group approved high-speed internet connection or leverage an existing high-speed internet service.

California, Colorado, Connecticut, Hawaii, Nevada, New Jersey, New York, Washington or Rhode Island Residents Only: The hourly range for this is $16.00 – $28.27 per hour. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. UnitedHealth Group complies with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
