At uLab Systems, our fast-paced teams work in small effective groups to provide support and solutions to our internal and external customers. You will be locally based with our fantastic manufacturing team in Memphis Tennessee. As a Senior DevOps Engineer and as part of our core technology team you will be using your critical thinking, design, technical, communication and process skills to support our growing global presence in the innovative software development and manufacture of dental aligner technologies.

Your day will typically include:

· Developing pipelines via terraform and cloud formation

· Implementing quality and security measures into existing pipelines

· Implementing best practice deployment models with up-to-date security methods

· Documenting, designing and implementing new cloud architectures to support product strategies

· Designing and implementing automations to increase productivity

· Participating in Agile methodologies. (Scrum / Kanban / sprints)

· Discussions and work coordination with the onsite automation teams to gather requirements

· Working with engineering teams from all over the world on current opportunities and future state strategies.

· Developing proposals and leading discussions with teams to discuss potential solutions

· Implementation of presented solutions working with various technical cross team members to accomplish on schedule, on time and on budget.

· Prioritization of team workloads to meet business objectives Requirements:

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Consistently measure and optimize the performance, costs, and ease of use of assigned technology domains (e.g., network performance, system utilization, scaling, pipeline performance, etc.).
  • Design, build, and introduce tools and templates that will abstract implementation details from product-based teams, increase productivity, projects that will scale servers and services, and tools that will increase system availability.
  • Design for redundancy and availability in key services as required by business needs
  • Debug and determine root causes of performance level bottlenecks and at network, system, and kernel levels.
  • Create or utilize dashboards, monitors, tools and debugging techniques to report and optimize performance.
  • Educate software engineers and product teams on standards and best practices in the cloud engineering and hosting.
  • Document and demonstrate solutions by developing documentation, flowcharts, layouts, diagrams, charts, code comments, and clear code.
  • Coach, mentor, and develop other engineers.
  • Write documentation that identifies how systems work and how they should be used
  • Write automation that enables other parts of the technical organization to self-serve
  • Researches and introduces best practice frameworks/capability models tailored for the environment that will control costs, provide higher quality and/or increase predictability of service delivery

Education and Experience requirements:

  • B.A. or B.S. in computer science, information technology, or related discipline
  • Minimum 5 years of experience as Development Operations (DevOps) engineer
  • Minimum 2 years of CI/CD systems such as (Amazon EKS, Jenkins, Bamboo, Concourse, …)
  • Minimum 2 years hands-on experience using programming and scripting languages such as Java, Python, Java Script, Vue.js, Node.js, PHP, PowerShell, Microsoft Visual Studio, Terraform, Kubernetes
  • Strong knowledge of website and web page debugging tools such as Chrome, Safari, Firefox, and Edge Developer Tools
  • Hands-on knowledge of RDBMS such as MySQL or Oracle and running software via the command line
  • Excellent organizational, problem-solving, and people skills
  • Experience in automation tools like Selenium, Postman, Cucumber, JMeter
  • Experience using GitHub / Git and others software source control systems
  • Experience with remediating Security audit report items and Knowledge on security testing, Penetration Testing.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to communicate and pivot rapidly with various teams to achieve common goals.
  • Fluent in written and spoken English

NICE TO HAVE:

  • Experience with serialization, track and trace, pharmaceutical compliance reporting, pharmaceutical validations (Computer System Validations CSV)
  • Experience working in a regulated environment (CLIA, HIPAA, SOX, and FDA) is a plus
  • Regulated FDA / SQA / QA / LIMS / MES systems experience
  • Supply chain, logistics, warehouse management, order management, manufacturing, inventory management, procurement
  • Knowledge on performance testing, metrics generation, KPI’s
  • Multi-language skills (Spanish, Chinese, French, German) as we are a globally expanding comp
