Within Dex, the Amazon Today program team is building out a new innovative offering for businesses with a retail presence to showcase their in-store inventory on Amazon’s storefront and enable same day delivery through Amazon’s last mile capabilities. This is a multi-billion dollar business in the making and we are just getting started.

As a Senior Business Development Manager, you will engage CXOs of enterprise brands in the retail industry to articulate the value proposition of Amazon Today. You identify and develop an enterprise brands pipeline, will own the most complex and largest business opportunities end-to-end and would be proficient at closing deals. You should also have a demonstrated ability to think strategically about customers priorities and technical challenges and to convey compelling solutions to them.

You will deepen business and technical relationships and sign-on enterprise brands for Amazon Today by defining, identifying and pursuing key opportunities. This includes determining the most effective go-to-market strategies and collaborating with Product, Legal, Marketing, Partners, Contracts, Operations and Executive leadership. The ideal candidate will possess both a sales and technical background that enables them to drive an engagement at the CXO level, with line of business leaders, as well as their IT / technical teams of Architects, Developers and System Integrators.

Executive presence, high judgment, negotiation skills, strategic thought leadership, and ability to influence are essential to success in this role. You will have demonstrated experience leading medium to large deals and will have a well-rounded background in current e-commerce industry practices, especially omni-channel. You must be able to thrive and succeed in an entrepreneurial environment and not be hindered by ambiguity or competing priorities. You constantly strive to expand our understanding of the metrics that drive our business and growth aspirations. Lastly, your communication skills – both verbal and written – are exceptional, and you will be able to clearly communicate at all levels in the organization, both internally and externally.

Key job responsibilities

Develop and execute go-to-market plan for Amazon Today offering for vendors / 1P relationships
Create prospecting funnel, execute and oversee business development pipeline leading to deal closure
Independenty close deals including negotiating, contracting and signing with enterprise brands
Understand the technical requirements of your customers and work closely with their IT development team(s) to guide the direction of our product offerings for developers.
Display thought-leadership in both external retail industry forums and internal events to further Amazon Today’s business objectives.
Develop internal stakeholder network across multiple businesses to tap into existing brand relationships for accelerated deal-making.
Collaborate with other Sr. Business Development Managers on large and complex enterprise sales pitches, negotiation and closures.
Prepare and deliver business reviews to the senior management team regarding quarterly and yearly strategies that align with revenue growth expectations.

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $118,400/year in our lowest geographic market up to $220,200/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
