Responsibilities
Let’s enumerate what this means in day to day ownership. We expect a Sr CloudOps Engineer to be expert with:
Linux administration, OS scripting (e.g. Bash, Python, Ruby), and network configuration.
DB administration: MySQL and other databases.
Systems (ours and third party): setup, configuration, monitoring, and automation.
Configure Automation tools: Chef, Ansible or similar.
Configure Continuous integration tools: Jenkins
Building environment tools: Maven, Nexus or similar.
Configure monitoring tools: CloudWatch, Sensu, CheckMK etc.
Configure and monitor Log management tools: Elk or similar.
Configure AWS tools and services, Deploy virtual machines; configure, manage, and optimize (e.g. Amazon Web Services, Vagrant, and Docker) in a high security environment.
Configure and deploy other tools such as Kafka, Zookeeper, Elastic
Suggest use of technology, data center operation, and tools; leading to continuous improvement in the company operations.
Ultimately responsible for maintaining 24/7/365 global operations, including responding in real-time to production issues.

Requirements
We’re looking for a Sr CloudOps Engineer who’s passionate about using technology to help the most vulnerable. You’re someone who believes the right data can help build better one-to-one relationships with communities in need of extra support. You have expertise in the following areas:
College degree or equivalent experience in Computer Science or similar field.
Strong Scripting experience with Bash, Go, Groovy, YAML.
1 to 3 year experience with AWS, Advanced Networking and or Security specialties certifications preferred.
1 to 3 year experience with Kubernetes on AWS, Azure or Google Cloud.
Working knowledge of word processing, spreadsheet, diagramming, etc.
Versed in security measures, encryption, and network configuration.
Work, install, configure, and maintain relational, NoSQL, Graph, and other databases.
Data modeling and SQL programming.
Linux server administration
Developing reports and widgets using BI tools.
Ability to use a variety of open source technologies.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills; presentations to peers and management.
Knowledge of software development tools such as IDE, version control, and documentation and collaboration tools (e.g. Confluence, Jira, Stash, Git).
