At a Glance

Red Ventures is looking for a Tax Editor to join our Bankrate team. The editor will be responsible for contributing to and executing on our strategy for tax content while using SEO and editorial best practices to edit articles that are highly visible on organic search.

This editor will be responsible for identifying relevant tax keywords for new content, updating existing articles, assigning content to freelancers and publishing content in the CMS (WordPress). The editor should have strong editing skills, as well as strong project management skills. An ability to oversee content creation from start to finish is a must.

What You’ll Do

  • Identify, pitch, assign and edit tax articles that rank highly on search and resonate with our consumer audience
  • Do keyword research to identify content gaps and opportunities to refresh and optimize existing content
  • Monitor key trends and news in the tax space to drive decisions on emerging content opportunities
  • Work with freelance writers for content creation, and identify new ones as needed
  • Edit externally produced content for AP Style, brand voice and tone
  • Check story drafts for errors, typos and linking opportunities
  • Participate in the publishing process in our content management system (WordPress)

What We’re Looking For

  • 2+ years of writing/editing personal finance content with experience covering taxes
  • Excellent research, writing and editorial skills, with the ability to effectively communicate to freelance writers
  • Excellent project management skills
  • Experience meeting tight deadlines while working independently to manage multiple projects
  • Knowledge of SEO best practices
  • Ability to grasp the voice, style and tone of the Bankrate brand
  • Desire to work closely with a fast-paced, high-performing team in a collaborative environment
  • Experience with AP Style
