National Team-Engineering (NT-E) is MDA’s one-stop shop for systems engineering reach-back into the major companies that build the essential elements of the MDS.
Systems Engineers on the National Team are helping to drive the future systems that will protect the United States, its friends and allies for generations to come.
The National Team has an immediate need for a Systems Engineer to perform the following tasks in Huntsville, Alabama:
– Performance conducts a wide variety of tasks developing, maintaining and integrating specialized mathematical-based modeling and simulation, as well as analyzing results of mathematic modeling to develop requirements for the Missile Defense Agency (MDA) Missile Defense System in a model based systems engineering environment (MBSE).
– Modeling and simulation tasks drive end-to-end performance analysis of the Missile Defense System.
– Individual will also participate in the development, updating, and benchmarking/anchoring of M&S tools to support system analysis tasks.
– Individual will conduct technical meetings with government and industry subject matter experts to analyze and formulate performance and functional requirements for system-of-system level specifications.
Individual must have a demonstrated technical background in numerical modeling and simulation using a high level programming language such as MATLAB, or similar language environment. Individual must be able to demonstrate knowledge of building and/or analyzing M&S for one-or-more missile defense-related system types: EO/IR sensors, RF/Radar sensors, kill vehicles, missiles/interceptors, threats & countermeasures, target discrimination, or command and control (e.g., C3I, C4I, etc.). Must possess software development experience with languages such as C++, C#, Python or Java. Candidate must demonstrate ability to think critically to develop and capture concepts in technical papers, presentations, and discussions. Individual must possess good oral and written communication skills. Capable of working in focused teams as an independent individual contributor.
Demonstrated experience modeling or simulating missile defense applications or similar domains (air combat, air defense, intercept of ballistic targets, intercept of non-ballistic targets, space vehicles, sub-orbital mechanics, etc.). Knowledge of ballistic and advanced threat systems ((e.g., aero-maneuvering, hypersonic, hyper-glide, countermeasures, etc.), a discriminator in selection. Modeling and analysis experience in aspects of the Ballistic missile defense system (e.g., Aegis Weapons Systems, Ground-based Midcourse Defense (GMD), Fire Control, C2BMC, BMDS sensors (EO/IR/RF), kill vehicles, interceptors, countermeasures, etc.). Systems engineering experience with large, complex systems. Experience with DOORS and/or MBSE processes a plus.

Onsite Full-time: The work associated with this position will be performed onsite at a designated Lockheed Martin facility.
Work Schedule Information
Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
