Lockheed Martin Engineering is looking for an experienced Wireless Communications Engineer to drive the design and specification for a new state-of-the-art mobile SATCOM communications system.

In this role, you will be responsible for design and specification development for a SATCOM communications system including modification of the 3GPP specs with focus on PHY layer implementation. This position requires excellent problem-solving skills focused on Wireless Communications Engineering.

Basic Qualifications

• Experience as a wireless communications or systems engineer with wireless communications expertise
• Experience with 4G LTE or 5G NR physical layer and physical layer specifications, such as 36.100 series and 36.200 series / 38.100 series and 38.200 series
• Experience in modeling and simulation of 4G and/or 5G physical layer
• Ability to obtain DoD Secret clearance, therefore U.S. Citizenship is required.

Desired skills

• Satellite communications (SATCOM) experience and knowledge about SATCOM protocol standards (e.g. DVB-S/S2/S2x/RCS/RCS2, Geo Mobile Radio, etc.)

Part-time Remote Telework: The employee selected for this position will work part of their work schedule remotely and part of their work schedule at a designated Lockheed Martin facility. The specific weekly schedule will be discussed during the hiring process.

Work Schedule Information

Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.

Security Clearance Information

This position requires a government security clearance, you must be a US Citizen for consideration.
