Job Description:
ARMA Global is seeking a qualified candidate to provide Senior Cloud Engineering services to support advanced customer cloud-based systems, acquisitions, and operations. As a cloud engineer on our team, you’ll apply specialized knowledge of cloud-specific technologies and services, leverage expertise in the Cloud Command Line Interfaces (CLI) and Cloud SDKs, comprehend cloud architectural constructs, and establish and maintain cloud environments programmatically using vendor consoles or third-party tools.
Responsibilities for a Senior Cloud Engineer include:
Architect, build, migrate, and maintain mission-based systems to a cloud infrastructure (i.e., AWS)
Identify, design, implement, and expand the architecture topologies, custom IaaS with new tools and technologies, and collaborate regularly with product owners to deploy custom business architectures and solutions
Lead and assist in migrating designated systems and applications from on-prem infrastructure to cloud infrastructure (e.g., AWS), which often requires refactoring application architecture and breaking down monolithic applications into service architecture or workloads
Apply Configuration Management disciplines to maintain hardware/software revisions, security patches, hardening, and documentation
Develop and direct the development of content for a complex and growing infrastructure. This includes use cases for Dashboards, Active Channels, Reports, Rules, Filters, Trends, and Active Lists
Possesses a solid understanding of cloud enterprise networks (hardware, software, protocols), and knowledgeable of tools and practices, and proficiency in systems analysis and project planning
Provide guidance, training, and or documentation to network security, network engineering, and other support teams in technologies and frameworks to assist them in integrating or setting up the environment, build and deploy applications, and automate operational needs
Working Closely with ISSM, ISO and the rest of the Security Team to maintain Security requirements for Operation systems
Support the establishment, enhancement, and continual improvement of an integrated set of correlation rules, alerts, searches, reports, and responses.
Coordinate and conduct event collection, log management, event management, compliance automation, and identity monitoring activities for systems
Perform routine equipment checks and preventative maintenance
Perform systems hardening to DoD Standards
Experience writing scripts with a scripting language
Opportunity to learn skills necessary for System Administrator, Network Administrator or similar role
Familiarity with various operating systems and platform
Resourcefulness, problem-solving aptitude, and self-motivation
Experience with deploying to IaaS, PaaS, or SaaS
Experience with Cloud infrastructure, including Compute, Network, Storage, and Backup
Knowledge of API design and Object-Oriented principles
Provide input to the weekly and monthly Status Report
Must be comfortable with military courtesies
Basic Qualifications:
- Final Secret clearance
- Experience with Service Now or other ticket system
- Experience with using Terraform to configure infrastructure automations
- Experience with Gitlab and the CI/CD pipeline
- Experience with additional tools, including Docker, Kubernetes, and Ansible
- Experience with working in defense cloud environments, including AWS Government Cloud
- Experience with multiple operating systems, including UNIX, Linux, and Windows
- Experience working on DevOps Teams
- DoD 8570 IAT Level I or higher certification compliance: COMPTIA Security +
Additional Qualifications:
- Enthusiasm for customer service and helping people
- Experience with Amazon Web Services (AWS)
- Other computer certification (Microsoft, AWS, COMPTIA)
- ITIL and agile experience preferred
- BA or BS degree in CS preferred. 10 years experience in place of college degree

The likely salary range for this position is $120,000 – $180,000, this is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary; rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
