What will you be doing:

Senior Consultant, Operations, works as part of a cross-functional team to enhance clinical efficiencies, promote appropriate and high-value care, and prepare Cedars-Sinai to succeed with value-based contracts and other payer initiatives. This position is primarily responsible for understanding existing workflows that impact current clinical practice and ensuring that all solutions developed by Clinical Transformation are successfully implemented and operationally sustainable. Additionally, this position will also lead best practices in project management for our largest initiatives.

  • Analyze current operational workflows to find opportunities to improve clinical efficiency, guideline adherence, and outcomes of care, as well as to reduce total costs of care.

  • Identify key operational questions that must be answered to understand current performance and opportunities for future improvement. Support “translation” of those questions into appropriate analyses.

  • Collaborate with other team members to ensure integration of clinical, analytic, and operational insights to increase organizational knowledge.

  • Support the communication of the results of analyses to various stakeholders. Communication should be clear and “fit for purpose” to addresses the questions and findings most relevant to the specific stakeholder.

  • Based on understanding of workflows and operational realities, ensure that all potential interventions and solutions can be successfully implemented and sustained over time by operational staff

  • Develop detailed implementation plans and support front-line staff in their implementation efforts. Account for all vital resources (e.g., technology, time, people) to ensure successful implementation.

  • Identify health system changes that may be needed to support appropriate evidence-based care.

  • Interpret analyses of outcomes of interventions, including clinical, patient-centered, utilization, and financial outcomes and identify implications for future operational workflows.

  • Provide project management support for many large initiatives, including partnerships with clinical/operational leadership and/or payers. Seamless integration of many cross-functional workflows to achieve successful achievement of goals to budget and timeline. Strong relationship development and single point of communication to ensure efficiency and clarity.

  • Support and participate in collaborative brainstorming and problem-solving, working closely with other members of the Clinical Transformation Team as well as cross-functional staff from the Office of the CMO, Medical Network, and clinical and operational leadership and front-line staff.

Qualifications

Experience Requirements:

Three (3) plus years of prior work experience in a healthcare setting, including experience in one or both of the following:

  1. Experience in operational role in healthcare setting

  2. Experience in successful management of complex projects and/or programs in healthcare setting

Educational Requirements:

Bachelor’s Degree in Health Care, Business, or related technical field

Master’s Degree (MPH, MBA) or Clinical Degree (preferred)
