Ascend has an exciting opportunity for a Senior Software Engineer. This Senior Software Engineer’s primary responsibility is to develop, modify, or update applications in support of business objectives and ongoing operations. This role participates in a DevOps Environment, monitoring and managing a production cloud-based application, prioritizing tickets and enhancements, and involvement in client facing office hours and queue reviews. Participate in or review all the steps in the software development life cycle to create and modify the software. This role will require having a well-rounded technical background, as well as great personal skills, and an ability to relay technical information to a non-technical audience. Daily tasks will include Monitoring of a live production environment utilized by a fortune 100 company, prioritizing tasks include bugs, enhancements to the product, as well as various non-technical requests for the client. Communicating the status of items to the stakeholders. Leading deployments and releases to the production environment for new projects by our project team. Creating documentation for processes.

Your day-to-day:
- Complete application coding assignments that meet provided technical specifications and end-user requirements
- Participate in finding solutions in the design process that generates application functional and technical specifications
- Document application design specifications and implementation procedures to improve application quality and reuse of code
- Assist in the creation of unit, function and performance test scripts to improve application quality and ensure fulfillment of requirement
- Plan and execute testing and implementation of major systems
- Collaborate effectively with clients and coworkers to increase efficiency and engagement
Your Skills & Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree preferred
- 5+ years of .NET development experience: ASP.NET, .NET Core, Entity Framework, C#, Web API/RESTful services, Microservices architecture, SQL Server
- Frontend experience: JavaScript, Angular (or similar MVVM JavaScript framework), HTML/CSS
- Experience working in an Agile environment
- Experience in application coding and in creating computer applications and/or databases
- Experience in enhancing highly scalable applications; troubleshooting and resolving issues
- Experience with software development life cycle and implementation methodologies
- Cloud experience: Azure App/Amazon AWS services and/or Microsoft Azure, Kubernetes, Docker
