The AWS Commerce Platform is hiring an experienced QAE that can raise our quality bar while working hand-in-hand with our world class engineering team.

The AWS Commerce Platform provides the back and front-end services that enable AWS customers to purchase AWS services and understand and manage their infrastructure costs. Our teams tackle some of the hardest scalability, performance, and distributed computing challenges in the world. We process trillions of events per month using stream processing techniques (Kinesis), process billions of line items via map reduce (EMR), and manage artifacts through the latest in database technologies (DynamoDB and Aurora). We process big data and provide tools for customers to interactively understand their bills. We also provide the analytics that let customers manage billions of dollars of IT usage and spending. Because we sit at the nexus of all AWS services and interact directly with end-customers, we also work closely across all AWS teams to ensure that we offer a great customer experience.

Our team is looking for someone that has passion for driving high quality product experiences. As an experienced QAE in AWS Commerce Platform, you will to work closely with product and engineering teams to drive and execute test activities that ensure the best customer experience, you will analyze designs and code to develop comprehensive test strategies. You will automate the testing of workflows using our test case management and testing automation tools. This includes developing automated tests using black box and white box testing techniques. You should be able to understand software internals, debug problems using log files, and write automated tests with Scripting tools and/or user-level automated tools in a fast space, startup like environment.

Key job responsibilities

  • Work with PMs and Devs to review user stories, build test plans and test cases
  • Execute test cases and log/report defects
  • Help expand functional regression suites

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or relative work experience
  • 3+ years working in software testing environments
  • Demonstrated ability to draft software engineering test strategies and plans
  • Understanding of software engineering and test automation best practices
  • Solid knowledge of databases, SQL, and scripting languages
  • Experience in building quality tooling and managing infrastructure
  • Proficiency in, at least, one programming language such as C++, Java, or Python

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • 3+ years of overall technical experience Knowledge of the different phases of a test lifecycle and the testing methodologies
  • Ability to troubleshoot and update automation scripts
  • Experience working in an Agile/Scrum environment
  • Strong experience operating in Agile/Scrum, DevOps, or other results driven SDLCs
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to handle competing priorities
  • Strong attention to detail and problem solving skills
  • Proven track record of understanding ambiguous problems and driving practical solutions
  • Strong verbal/written communication skills, including an ability to effectively communicate with both business and technical teams
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, reporting, analytical and problem solving skills
  • Experience with Java or another OO language
  • Experience with Continuous Integration
