Within the AWS WW Commercial Sale organization, the Sales Strategy Operations and Enablement (WWSO) team is responsible for supporting Leadership, Sales, and Operational teams in achieving organizational objectives and driving continuous improvements in field productivity. We own and deliver “run the business” (RTB) operational cadences, build new mechanisms to support organizational growth and scale, and drive organizational initiatives.

The North America Sales Strategy, Operations & Enablement (SSOE) team is building the future of sales. Our team is responsible for supporting the rapidly growing Americas Commercial Sales business, from Sales Leaders to Solutions Architects and everything in between. We are looking for a hands-on and motivated self-starter who is passionate about using and analyzing data, market insights/trends, and business/functional feedback to deep dive and 1/develop actionable insights that can drive strategy, 2/conceptualize, build, and execute scale mechanisms and strategic programs, 3/develop forward-looking strategies for sales geographies and execute strategic initiatives that accelerate growth, and 4/influence leadership decision-making on business-critical topics.

An ideal candidate would have strong business management, strategy, analytical, project management and communication skills, ability to work cross-functionally, and translate business needs into initiatives. The candidate will be high on Learning intensity and Be Curious about exploring new possibilities while questioning the Status Quo, be vocally self-critical, and always Insist on the Highest Standards. The ideal candidate has experience in business management, strategy and operations in a sales organization, high business acumen, strong analytical skills, and experience working in highly matrixed teams. This is a hands-on position – the candidate must be a strategic thinker and willing to “roll up their sleeves”. The candidate will be a self-starter with a desire to proactively identify and tackle complex challenges across organizations using data to inform their strategies.

The candidate will have a bias towards independent problem solving, and the foresight to anticipate business needs, make trade-offs, and balance business dynamics despite constraints. The lead will thrive in a fast-paced environment, will be able to manage through ambiguity and complexity, and constantly seek ways to invent and simplify business processes. Maturity, strong judgment, and the ability to influence are all essential to success in this role.

Location: U.S. city with AWS corporate office.

Key job responsibilities

  • Lead Area 3-year planning and Operational Planning cycle
  • Identify specific strategic challenges and opportunities in collaboration with Area leadership
  • Define and lead high impact Area specific strategic initiatives
  • Define key sales support mechanisms and programs to meet the rapid growth of the business and achieve new customer acquisition, revenue attainment and market development objectives
  • Lead in-Area deployment of North America-wide strategies
  • Accelerate adoption in cooperation with area GTM teams and overall Strategy and Planning teams
  • Measure and evaluate impact
  • Act as a feedback loop for voice of the field
  • Surface successful in-Area initiatives/strategies to Americas Strategy

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

  • BA/BS Degree required; advanced degree preferred
  • 10+ years of experience in Sales Operations, Business Planning, Operations, Strategy, Finance, Business Development, or other related fields

  • Experience working within a high-growth, global technology company
  • Demonstrated successful track record planning and executing strategic and operational deliverables
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple competing priorities simultaneously and drive to completion
  • Strong analytical skills, and a proven track record of taking ownership and leading data-driven analyses
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with experience presenting to senior leadership
  • Exhibits sound business judgment and a proven ability to influence others

The pay range for this position in Colorado is $159,311 – $215,538 /year; however, base pay offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. A sign-on bonus and restricted stock units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the position offered.
